Big ThanksPosted on Laura SmolnickyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Goodwin Construction recently replaced our roof after wind damage was sustained. We called Goodwin and inquired about replacing or repairing the roof. Jeff, owner of Goodwin Construction, sent his son out the same day to cover the exposed areas so there would be no more damage until we could meet with him. Jeff came out, looked at the roof and said we should file an insurance claim and asked us to call him when the adjuster would be here as he wanted to show the adjuster exactly what we had. Appointments were made, Jeff showed up early and waited for the adjuster. They went up on the roof, he showed the adjuster several places damaged. The adjuster needed to come back again and Jeff wanted to be there. Jeff answered all of our phone calls, answered our questions and addressed our concerns, such an honest, polite and professional man. His roofing crew showed up promptly, were polite, neat and replaced the roof in one day. They cleaned up all around the house, deck, flower beds and roses without any damage. We are extremely pleased with our new roof and would highly recommend Goodwin Construction.Posted on Brian BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. In Starke County, many homes sit on open land with more wind exposure, while others are near wooded areas, lakes, or low spots where moisture can become a long-term concern. When window seals fail or frames shift, you’ll often notice cold spots in winter, sticky operation during humid weather, and rooms that never feel consistent.
Our window installers focus on what actually fixes the problem: correct fit, tight sealing, insulation around the opening, and moisture protection so your replacement windows perform the way they should year after year.
Windows are easy to ignore until they start affecting everyday comfort. A draft you feel near the couch, condensation that keeps coming back, or a bedroom that’s always colder than the rest of the house usually points to windows that are no longer sealing correctly. Window replacements in Starke County IN are one of the most practical upgrades you can make for comfort, efficiency, and long-term durability.
At Goodwin Construction, we keep the process simple. We inspect what’s happening with your existing windows, explain options clearly, and install replacement windows with long-term performance in mind. The goal isn’t just to “swap the window.” The goal is a clean install that reduces drafts, manages moisture, and gives you windows that operate smoothly and lock securely.
Starke County homes often deal with a combination of open land, strong seasonal winds, and temperature changes that can expose weak seals quickly. If your home sits on open ground outside town, drafts can become obvious fast when older windows lose their seal.
Moisture can also be a factor, especially around lakes and low-lying areas where humidity and storm-driven rain are more common. That’s why window replacements in Starke County IN should be installed with a focus on sealing, insulation, and moisture protection—not just appearance.
When we install replacement windows, we pay attention to the opening condition and the details that protect your home over time. That means fewer drafts, fewer “mystery” water stains around trim, and less risk of slow damage around the window opening.
Some window problems are obvious, like broken glass or a unit that won’t open. Others show up gradually as comfort issues. Starke County homeowners often contact a window company when they notice:
If these issues sound familiar, window replacements Starke County IN homeowners invest in can address the root cause rather than forcing you to keep dealing with the symptoms.
A replacement window can only perform as well as the installation. Our window installers take a careful approach—removing the old window, inspecting the opening, and preparing the area so the new unit sits square and operates properly.
This matters in Northwest Indiana because small gaps can become bigger problems over time. Freeze/thaw cycles can expand weak points, and wind-driven rain can find its way into openings if moisture management is ignored. A correct installation helps prevent drafts, water intrusion, and long-term trim or framing issues.
If you’ve ever had windows replaced and still felt drafts afterward, the issue is often installation detail. We focus on getting those details right.
Many homeowners start looking into replacement windows because comfort becomes a daily issue. When older windows stop sealing, your HVAC system ends up working harder just to maintain temperature. Energy-efficient replacement windows can help stabilize indoor comfort by reducing air leakage and improving insulation performance.
We keep recommendations practical. During your estimate, we’ll explain the options in plain language and help you choose what makes sense for your home and budget. Some homeowners prioritize eliminating drafts. Others want better comfort in summer. Others simply want windows that operate correctly again.
Starke County has a wide mix of home types—older houses in town, ranch-style homes, farmhouses, and newer builds. Window replacements should match the home visually and functionally. Some homeowners want to keep the same style and upgrade performance. Others want better ventilation, easier cleaning, or improved natural light.
We’ll help you compare options so you can choose a window setup that fits your priorities without overcomplicating the decision. The goal is a finished result that looks right on the home and functions the way you want it to.
Home improvement goes smoother when expectations are clear. Goodwin Construction is known for reliable workmanship and clear communication. You’ll get a straightforward estimate, honest recommendations, and a crew that respects your home and property.
We’re not interested in rushing a job just to move on. We’re interested in installing windows properly so they perform long-term and look clean when we’re done.
Starke County is made up of several close-knit communities where homes and properties can have very different needs. We regularly work throughout the area, including:
Whether you’re in town or outside town on open land, our approach stays the same: focus on correct installation, clear communication, and practical recommendations that fit the home.
Windows aren’t the only place where comfort issues start. Door installations in Starke County IN are a common upgrade for homeowners dealing with entry doors that don’t seal correctly, stick in humid weather, or feel loose in the frame. Along with window replacements, Goodwin Construction provides door replacements and door installations that improve comfort, security, and curb appeal.
Exterior doors take a beating in Indiana weather. If your door leaks air, won’t latch smoothly, or has visible gaps around the frame, replacement may be the right move. A properly installed exterior door should close securely, seal correctly, and help keep outside air and moisture out.
Door replacements can also update the look of the home quickly, especially if the existing door is worn, faded, or outdated. When paired with replacement windows, a new entry door can noticeably improve the overall feel of the exterior.
Storm doors are a practical option for many homeowners in Starke County. They can add protection from wind-driven rain, help extend the life of the main entry door, and provide extra ventilation during mild seasons. If you’re considering storm doors, we’ll recommend options that fit your entryway and install them so they operate smoothly and seal properly.
Not every homeowner wants or needs to replace every window at once. Many people start with the worst-performing windows first and plan the rest over time. This can be a smart approach if you have a few windows that clearly cause the biggest comfort issues.
If you want to take a phased approach, we can help you prioritize which windows make the most sense to replace first, then build a plan that fits your timeline and budget.
If your windows are drafty, outdated, or difficult to operate, Goodwin Construction is ready to help. We provide window replacements Starke County IN homeowners can depend on, along with professional window installations and door installations completed with care and clear communication.
